One of the largest motorsport events in the Australian calender is taking place in Sydney on the 18th and 19th of October. Last years winners, Nemo racing will be out to try and put down another record breaking lap, 2013 will see the strongest field yet in all classes.
For those unfamiliar with Time Attack Racing, think of it as a qualifying lap, each racer competing against the clock with the fastest single lap in each category taking the cash.
This time attack format allows almost unlimited modifications making for some seriously entertaining circuit racing. You will witness plenty of high performance, light weight cars with some of the craziest aero packages ever seen on a racetrack. Don’t take these cars lightly either, they will out perform almost anything they come up against. Last years winner still holds a record at Sydney Motorsport Park.
Besides the excitement on the Time Attack competition, this year will see the Turbosmart Flying 500 which is a rolling start 500 Meter drag race. There will be a never before seen car coming over from New Zealand and Driven By “Mad” Mike Whiddett.Take note of the motor in this car…. That’s right a 6 Rotor built by P.P.R.E. This car is a must see (and hear), the crazy Kiwis really know how to build rotors.
Nulon will be out in full force in the international Drift Challenge with 4 cars competing including Gavin Edwards in his V8 powered R32 Skyline, James Abbot in his Supra powered S15 200sx, Scott Schembri in his very tuff 180sx and Stephen Pembrey in his unique AE86.
All 4 drivers will be competing in the team drift as well as for Team Australia. Stay tuned to our blog for more details on what Nulon plan to do at World Time Attack and your chance to win tickets and a back stage pass with Nulon Motorsport.
