For those lucky enough to attend the 2013 World Time Attack held at Sydney Motorsport Park in October, a few cars would have caught their eye. One of which would be this amazing Mitsubishi Evolution IIX built, prepared and raced by Pulse Racing based out of Sydney.DAO_5833

This workshop has turned out some amazing cars both on and off the track over the past 5 years, but none more eye catching then their own workshop toy. Starting as a standard Mitsubishi Evolution but quickly made a name for itself and the workshop, Running a 12.04 @ 113mph with little more than some Dyno time on the Pulse Racing Dyno.

Paul made the decission to convert his daily Driven Evo into the Time attack weapon you see in front of you. as you can see this car is a complete custom one off car, with all the parts designed in house, showing off not only their engine building skills but innovation and fabrication.

Just look at the rear end of this beast. A single air jack is all that is needed, take a closer look as to how it is mounted. The rest suspension has seen a few different setups, as has the rest of the car.

So lets look at the spec of this car:Engine:

  • Pulse Spec 2.4L 800HP Stroker Engine
  • Custom Intake & Exhaust Manifold
  • Large Frame Garrett Turb
  • oMotec ECU & Data Logging
  • E85 Race Fuel

  • PPG Pulse Spec Dog gearbox
  • Cusco front diff
  • RS rear diff with Pulse Tarmac spec mods
  • Motec ACD ECU

Suspension & Brakes:

  • Ohlins TTX Pulse spec Coil overs

The new look front end of the Evo was a winner. The front splitter is by far the biggest we have ever seen. Feedback from the crew was that the car had picked up some mid corner speed without the loss at the top end. Perfect.

This photo just shows you how well this car has been setup. The Matte Orange with black wheels looks killer.

Thousands of man hours have gone into the development and testing of this race car. It Paid off at this years event. The pulse garage was the center of attention and the whole Pulse racing team looked the part.
